Alexis McDonald

Alexis McDonald, MS, LPC

Alexis is a clinical mental health care provider working with individuals ages 3 and up. Alexis works hands on with parents and families to collaborate and provide education. Alexis also values the power of knowledge and understanding in mental health care.

Alexis received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin Stout in 2018 and further pursued her education by earning her Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Stout in 2020.

Alexis currently specializes in play-based therapies and incorporating expressive modalities into therapy. Alexis works with children, teenagers, and adults on a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, emotion management, stress, trauma, adverse childhood experiences, familial discord, and life changes.

Alexis has been extensively trained in utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy within her practice, including top down and bottom up processing. Alexis has also received extensive training in psychopathology, dialectical behavior therapy, behavioral management, resiliency building, functional skills training, and psychoeducation with parents. Alexis began working with Caillier Clinic as part of the Behavioral Intervention Team where she provided behavioral treatments including Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) in conjunction with supportive in-home family skill building for parents, family members, and children.

Alexis has a strong passion for the peacefulness of the outdoors. She is frequently exploring, cooking new recipes, practicing yoga, and spending time with friends. Alexis enjoys practicing mindfulness and appreciating the small comforts in life.
